During the week of 4 – 8 January, most African currencies fluctuated within the range of ± 2% against the US dollar. Stronger exchange rate changes occurred for
Mozambique’s Metical that recorded the highest gain of 10.7% followed by the
Djibouti Franc up by 3.5%. On the other hand the
Seychelles Rupee depreciated by 9.3% against the US dollar, with the
Kenyan Shilling, the
Mauritius Rupee and
