During the week of 14 – 18th December, most African currencies depreciated by less than 3%, with the CFA Franc Zone experiencing the largest currency depreciation of 2.59% against the US dollar. Of the six currencies that appreciated, Mozambique’s Metical recorded the highest gain of 11.5% while the rest had marginal gains of less than 1%.
