Market Intelligence - Equities

African stock markets closed the week showing mixed performance. The stock markets in Mauritius, Kenya, Morocco, South Africa and Tunisia recorded marginal gains of 1.1% or less. In contrast, the markets in Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt and Nigeria registered losses of up to 1.5%. In Egypt, the Case 30 Index fell this week from 6,477.86 points to 6,380.44 points. The fall was due to declines in mobile operator Orascom Telecom (OT) and property developer Talaat Moustafa stocks by 3.6 % and 3.4 %, respectively.
