Market Intelligence - Equities

African stock markets closed the week with mixed performance. The stock markets in South Africa, Côte d'Ivoire, and Nigeria scored gains of up to 3.1%. In contrast, the equity markets in Mauritius, Kenya, Morocco, and Tunisia registered losses of up to 2.0% over the week.

South Africa: Stocks rose by 3.1% in tandem with the global markets despite the increase in the discount rate by the U.S. Federal Reserve as the Government announced a smaller-than-expected deficit. Click here for this week's Market Intelligence Table.
