The Africa Health Fund Invests US$2.66 Million in Nairobi Women's Hospital

The Africa Health Fund managed by Aureos Capital has made its first investment, acquiring a stake in the Nairobi Women’s Hospital for US$2.66 million. The fund has a target size of US$100 million and is backed by the International Finance Corporation, the African Development Bank, DEG and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, who have jointly committed US$57 million. This is one of the many examples of how fund managers utilize the Bank’s investment in their Funds to undertake investments offering good financial returns whilst also making a positive development impact.
