African Clean Energy Projects May Triple

According to Bloomberg News, the value of carbon emission- reduction projects in Africa is expected to almost triple from 2008. The UN Capacity Development for the Clean Development Mechanism estimates that there are 116 projects that will generate 125 million carbon credits by the end of 2012. This translates into a monetary value of about 1.4 billion euros. The African Development Bank has promoted investments in wind, hydro, co-generation, geothermal and solar projects since the Kyoto Protocol was agreed in 1997. Click here to read more of this article.
